Today, on my 40th birthday, I am super excited to launch YOLO DUDE, a personal project that I have been working on for the past few months. It has been very inspiring and enjoyable from the initial spark of the idea to the launch of YOLO DUDE today. A huge thank you to Juugend, the illustrator I collaborated with on the YOLO DUDE brand and the artworks representing each of the 40 projects I’ve set out to do.
YOLO DUDE is a constant reminder for myself of the memories I hope to create throughout my life. It is NOT an exercise in ticking off boxes and I don’t see YOLO DUDE as a game or a challenge to complete a list of 40 projects, but more as a mindset and a way of life. In today’s world, it is easy to get caught up in the daily grind, working through to-do lists and just going through the motions. I don’t want to reach the age of 60 or 70 with regret, thinking of the things I could have done.
I believe that YOLO DUDE will help me accomplish far more than I would without it. I have always believed in the power of visualization and I have practiced it for as long as I can remember. The process of envisioning my future through artworks has been super fun. With many of the projects, I now feel that all that remains is to do it, and I am very much looking forward to that.
In the journey so far, the enthusiasm I have received from the handful of people I shared YOLO DUDE with during its creation process has been super encouraging. I am excited to see what the future holds for YOLO DUDE, without any expectations or desired outcomes.
